Mike Wade: Sankie-Lead vocals and keyboard. Born in Belize, started his music career performing in the local community. Rendition of soca, calypso, and punta rock accompanied by his in-laws. Sankie, stage named, later found himself in the U.S.A. performing cover songs from classic motown hits. The admiration for Dennis Brown and Lucianna inspired him to sing their songs. Imitation is by far the highest form of flattery, also realizing his voice is alike his role models. Chain Reaction welcomes to the band wagon a diverse style in the cultivation of well known classics. Neville “Bassey” McNab: Bass guitar, electric and acoustic guitar, and keyboard: arranger/composer. This self-taught bass guitarist began playing the guitar at age 17, born in England of Jamaican parentage; he immigrated to Jamaica in 1973. His musical career playing rhythm guitar began in 1978 playing in hotels, on the North Coast of Jamaica. 1979 brought the switch from rhythm to bass guitar. Road sessions followed, backing artists such as Cornell Campbell, Keith Poppins, and Ronnie Davis and Little John to name a few. While back in the U.K. in ‘83 he played with “Sons of David”, an affiliate to Twelve Tribes of Israel movement. Recording sessions followed. From ‘84 to “86 he diverted to gospel music playing in the local community and on the North Coast of Jamaica. 1988 he reformed Energy Incorporated with the original members and renamed them Strike Force. This upcoming band would show case many artists including Sanchez, Papa San, Pinchers, Ninja Man, and many more. Late 1989 found him in Miami, playing with the band Roscoe’s Connection. Bassey is a founding member of Chain Reaction. Harold Palmer: Lead guitar. Born in Jamaica, he started playing music from an early age in churches. Later he joined a band called “Only After Dark” which lasted for three years before disbanding. The “Rising Sun” was his next group, which lasted some four years. Chain Reaction welcomed him aboard in November 2002. Patrick “Groovy” Henry: Keyboard, drums, and bass, and arranger. Our keyboard specialist brings over 36 years experience to the band. Born and bred in the beautiful island of Jamaica his first band experience was with Barrington Williams Aces and many years with Jah Children Band. His diverse musical repertoire includes classical, jazz, and reggae variables. During his career he has backed and toured with artists such as Peter Tosh, Sanchez, Shabba, Beanie Man, Beres Hammond, Ken Booth, Alton Ellis, and Derek Morgan in Japan, Canada, Germany and every U.S. State. 1989 brought the Reggae Grammy award with the Itals. “Groovy” an original band member brings Chain Reaction many wonderful years of experience, where his fellow band member welcome his guidance and input. Marlene Haines: Lead vocals, artist. Marlene hails from the serene and tranquil town of Falmouth, in Jamaica, where she began singing at an early age. She attended the William Knibb High School and excelled academically and at the arts...she later went to Ardenne High School in Kingston and from there went on to study art at the The Edna Manley School of the Visual Arts, where she studied painting, sculpting, ceramics among a few of the areas that she majored in. In the mid 80's Marlene won the renowned Tastee Talent Contest, which also boast the likes of famous talent winners who got their start in the Jamaican music industry such as reggae superstars Nadine Sutherland, King Yellowman to name a few. Marlene competed in the National Jamaican Song Festival in the island where she was a runner up in the finals of 1991. She was also lead singer in two bands that played on the hotel circuit on the Northcoast. Presently Marlene is a Teacher by profession, and is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Education, at Nova Southeastern University here in Orlando.
